Nigeria seeks stronger trade and investment ties with Jamaica
The Nigerian High Commissioner to Jamaica, Dr. Jane Bassey Adams, has officially presented her letters of credence to the Governor-General of Jamaica, Sir Patrick Allen, in Kingston.
During the ceremony, Adams conveyed greetings from Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and described the event as a milestone intended to usher in a “new dawn” for bilateral relations. She expressed a mission to transform the shared history and cultural affinity between the two nations into concrete, mutually beneficial partnerships.
Proposed areas for strengthened cooperation include trade, investment, health, culture, technology, tourism, and education. Governor-General Allen acknowledged the 56-year history of diplomatic relations between Nigeria and Jamaica, noting the depth of the connection between the two countries.
