Nigeria Senate confirms Sani Ndanusa as ambassador-designate
The Nigerian Senate has unanimously confirmed the nomination of Sani Mohammed Ndanusa as a non-career ambassador and high commissioner. The confirmation followed a screening process by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Senator Sani Bello, representing Niger North, presented the committee's report, stating that lawmakers were satisfied with Ndanusa’s qualifications, character, and diplomatic knowledge. Senate Chief Whip Tahir Monguno also supported the nomination, describing Ndanusa as eminently qualified for the role.
Ndanusa previously served as the Minister of Youth, Sports and Social Development and Chairman of the National Sports Commission between 2008 and 2010. Following this legislative confirmation, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is cleared to formally post Ndanusa to a foreign mission to represent Nigeria's interests and advance its foreign policy objectives.
