Nigeria Senate President Akpabio urges Tinubu’s campaign movement to boost 2027 re‑election drive

Senate President Godswill Akpabio addressed members of the City Boy movement and the PBAT Door‑to‑Door campaign group, urging them to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in 2027. He called for respectful, issue‑based door‑to‑door outreach, stressing that politics should unite rather than divide the nation. Akpabio warned that the movement must ensure Tinubu’s agents are present in every polling unit to avoid the vote‑counting problems alleged in the 2023 election. He also predicted that opposition parties would claim electoral manipulation if Tinubu wins, urging supporters to ignore such accusations. The Senate President highlighted the administration’s reforms, increased foreign investment and fiscal autonomy for sub‑national governments as achievements the campaign should promote.
