Nigeria: Tinubu appoints Festus Keyamo to lead APC air mobilisation
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, to head the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council’s Directorate of Air Mobilisation. The new unit is designed to manage air-movement logistics and facilitate travel for campaign officials across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones ahead of the 2027 general elections.
To provide technical and operational expertise, the President appointed two deputy directors from the aviation sector: Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), as Deputy Director I, and Farouk Ahmed Umar, Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), as Deputy Director II.
The directorate is tasked with coordinating complex flight operations, ensuring efficient transport support, and maintaining strict adherence to aviation safety standards during the nationwide campaign period.
