Nigeria to develop building materials hubs to boost housing
The Nigerian Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to establishing building materials manufacturing hubs across the country’s geopolitical zones. The initiative aims to boost local production, reduce construction costs, and improve access to affordable housing.
Speaking at the 56th Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Institute of Builders in Abuja, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume stated that these hubs are intended to strengthen domestic supply chains. He called on professional builders to provide the technical expertise and research necessary to implement policies that support the government’s housing objectives.
