Nigeria to host 2026 World Public Relations Forum in Abuja
The Nigerian Presidency has pledged its support for the upcoming Global Alliance World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), scheduled to take place in Abuja from November 15 to 21, 2026. The event is being organized in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, confirmed the government's commitment during a meeting with the WPRF planning committee led by NIPR President Dr. Ike Neliaku. The forum, themed ‘Deepening Responsible Communications’, is expected to host approximately 3,000 delegates representing 126 member countries.
Nigeria is the first African nation to secure the hosting rights for this global event. Officials noted that the conference provides a significant opportunity to showcase Nigeria's cultural heritage and to address negative international narratives regarding the country through responsible communication.
