Nigeria to host Carnival of Stories cultural festival

The Carnival of Stories, a five-day cultural festival, is scheduled to take place from December 1 to December 5, 2026. Organized by JT Agency, the event will feature a hand-built clay city designed to showcase Nigeria’s traditions, architecture, art, and inherited narratives through an immersive environment.

The festival aims to present Nigeria’s diverse cultural heritage as connected chapters of a single story rather than isolated traditions. The clay city will utilize traditional building practices from across the country, highlighting the use of earth as a sustainable material that can regulate indoor temperatures and offer lessons for contemporary architecture.

Curators and organizers, including JT Agency CEO Bayo Omoboriowo and Ndubuisi Ahanonu of the International Institute for Creative Development, stated that the festival seeks to explore new ways of telling Nigerian stories. The experience will guide visitors through various cultural spaces, such as the Grove of Ancestors, Durbar Court, and the Court of Masks, concluding at a space for reflection known as the Impluvium.
