Nigeria to host major U.S.-Africa trade and cultural expos

Nigeria is preparing to host two major events aimed at boosting trade, investment, and cultural exchange.

Abia State has announced it will host the 2026 edition of AFRICANDO, a U.S.-Africa Trade and Investment Conference and Expo. Scheduled for November 17 to 19, 2026, in Umuahia, the event is organized by the Abia Diaspora Commission in partnership with the Foundation for Democracy in Africa and the Global Chamber of Commerce. Themed ‘Deepening U.S.–Africa Commercial Ties in the Era of AfCFTA’, the conference seeks to connect African entrepreneurs and policymakers with international investors.

Separately, Abuja will host the inaugural Afrocentric Cultural Expo from November 7 to 18. Organized by the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce-USA (NICOCUSA), the 10-day event aims to promote African culture and strengthen economic ties with the diaspora. The expo is expected to feature music, fashion, film, and a global business forum, with organizers projecting a direct economic impact of approximately $300 million.
