Nigerian Air Force emphasizes fitness for combat readiness
AVM Adeniran Ademuwagun, Commandant of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), has emphasized that physical fitness is a critical component of combat readiness and effective service delivery within the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).
Speaking in Kaduna during the NAF Third Quarter Route March Exercise, Ademuwagun addressed officers, airmen, and airwomen, noting that their performance demonstrated a collective commitment to operational readiness. He stressed that fitness must be a continuous requirement rather than an intermittent activity to ensure personnel remain physically robust and mentally alert for short-notice responses.
The exercise aligns with the Chief of the Air Staff’s priority to improve personnel welfare and well-being. Ademuwagun further noted that route marches serve as a demonstration of military strength and a show of force, signaling mobility and organization to adversaries while reassuring the civilian population of the NAF’s vigilance and capability.
