Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre starts pre‑discharge course for 840 retiring soldiers

The Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) in Oshodi, Lagos, inaugurated Pre‑Discharge Course 2/2026 for 840 retiring military personnel – 523 from the Army, 89 from the Navy and 228 from the Air Force. The programme provides vocational, entrepreneurial and management training in fields such as agriculture, information technology, auto mechanics, bakery, tailoring, welding, refrigeration, leather work, photography, ceramics, fine arts, water production, security and business management.

Major General Adebayo Babalola, General Officer Commanding 81 Division, opened the course and praised NAFRC’s role in preparing retirees for civilian life. Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ilo, Commandant of NAFRC, highlighted the training’s aim to foster economic self‑reliance. Of the participants, 689 have completed documentation, accommodation and medical screening, 136 were deemed medically unfit and returned for treatment, and 12 have yet to report.
