Nigerian Army begins promotion exercise for 1,115 personnel
The Nigerian Army has commenced the 2026 Warrant Officers–Master Warrant Officers Promotion Board exercise in Rivers State. A total of 1,115 candidates are participating in the process, which is being hosted by the Headquarters 6 Division at the National Youth Service Corps Orientation Camp in the Tai Local Government Area.
The exercise, scheduled to run from September 2 through September 22, involves a comprehensive assessment of candidates. The evaluation includes documentation reviews, certificate screening, medical examinations, physical fitness tests, weapon handling, drill exercises, computer literacy tests, written examinations, and oral interviews.
Major General Adewale Adekeye, the Chief of Personnel Management (Army), urged participants to maintain professionalism and prioritize their physical wellbeing during the assessments. Major General Everest Okoro, the General Officer Commanding 6 Division, expressed confidence in the board's ability to conduct a transparent and credible assessment of the candidates' leadership and competence.
