Nigerian Army boosts mobility and welfare in Abuja
The Nigerian Army Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has commissioned refurbished operational vehicles and the renovated Nightingale Club at the 1 Women Battalion in Giri, Abuja.
Speaking through the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Appolonia Anele, the Chief of Staff emphasized that military effectiveness is directly tied to the availability and serviceability of operational platforms. The refurbishment of these vehicles is intended to enhance the Command’s ability to move personnel, equipment, and logistics promptly in response to operational requirements.
In addition to mobility assets, the Chief of Staff highlighted the importance of personnel welfare. The Nightingale Club was established to provide a space for recreation, social interaction, and relaxation, aiming to strengthen morale, cohesion, and esprit de corps among troops and their families.
