Nigerian Army GOC warns troops against criminal infiltration in Oyo State

Major General Auwalu Mahmuda, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Nigerian Army’s 2 Division, has instructed troops of the newly formed 321 Artillery Regiment to prevent criminal elements from establishing a presence in their area of responsibility.

During a maiden operational visit to the regiment’s temporary location in Iseyin, Oyo State, Mahmuda highlighted specific security concerns regarding the unit’s proximity to the Old Oyo National Park. He urged personnel to remain vigilant, respond decisively to threats, and maintain high standards of professionalism and discipline.

Mahmuda also emphasized the importance of maintaining cordial relationships with host communities. He noted that the expansion of the Nigerian Army through additional formations is intended to strengthen the military’s capacity to address emerging security challenges.
