Nigerian Army recruitment drive targets Delta State youths

The Delta State Government is encouraging qualified youths from the state to apply for the Nigerian Army’s 92 Regular Recruits Intake (RRI). The recruitment covers both tradesmen/women and non-tradesmen/women, with an application window running from September 9 to October 21 via the official army portal.

Latimore Oghenesivbe, Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, noted that enlistment provides professional development, regular pay, and pensionable employment. This initiative aligns with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda focused on youth empowerment and human capital development.

Separately, the Nigerian Army recently held a graduation ceremony for Exercise Shining Star Course 12/2026 in Abuja. Major General Valentine Okoro, represented by Brigadier General Ukeagbu Igbokwe, urged young soldiers from the 90 RRI to maintain discipline, professionalism, and physical fitness as they deploy to their respective units to support national security.
