Nigerian Breweries posts 9% revenue rise as industry sales reach N1.4 trillion in H1 2026

Nigerian Breweries Plc reported a 9% increase in half‑year revenue to about N804 billion for the six months ended 30 June 2026, restoring retained earnings to positive territory and lifting operating profit 8% to N164 billion. Profit after tax rose 5% to N193 billion while net finance costs fell 61%, helping improve the brewer’s balance sheet and margins.

The three largest brewers in NigeriaNigerian Breweries, International Breweries and Guinness Nigeria – together generated roughly N1.41 trillion in sales in the first half of 2026, showing the sector’s resilience despite inflation and a shift by younger consumers toward spirits and non‑alcoholic drinks. International Breweries’ revenue was broadly flat at N342 billion, while Guinness Nigeria, now owned by the Tolaram Group, posted an 11.8% increase to N265 billion.
