Nigerian Coach Aliyu Zubairu Takes Charge of Sudan's Al Ahli Madani

Aliyu Zubairu, the former head coach of Nigeria's U‑20 Flying Eagles, ended his two‑month spell with Egyptian second‑division side Telecom SC by mutual consent. Within 24 hours he was appointed head coach of Sudanese Premier League club Al Ahli Madani on a two‑year contract, replacing veteran manager Farouk Jabra. Zubairu will lead the team in the domestic league and the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.

The 62‑year‑old Nigerian tactician previously guided El Kanemi Warriors to a President Federation Cup title and promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League, and steered the Flying Eagles to a WAFU B U‑20 championship and a third‑place finish at the 2025 Africa U‑20 Cup of Nations in Egypt.
