Nigerian Defence Academy to graduate 3,508 students at 36th convocation
The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) is set to hold its 36th Convocation Ceremony on September 24 in Kaduna. The event will see the graduation of 444 cadets from the 73 Regular Course, alongside 3,064 postgraduate students.
The graduating cadets have completed five years of training, consisting of four years of academic study and one year of full military training. They will receive degrees in various fields, including Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Bachelor of Engineering, across 23 departments. Among the cadets is an allied student from Congo Brazzaville. Academic distinctions include 19 First Class graduates and 156 Second Class Upper graduates.
The postgraduate cohort includes 160 PhD students, 2,132 master’s students, and 769 postgraduate diploma students.
As part of the proceedings, a convocation lecture will be delivered by retired General Lucky Irabor, former Chief of Defence Staff, on the topic of ‘Civil Military Relations in Nigeria: Governance and National Security’. Vice President Kashim Shettima is expected to attend as the special guest of honour.
