Nigerian DSS Wins Court Orders Against Blogger Justice Crack and Sahara Reporters Founder

A Federal High Court in Abuja remanded popular blogger Chidiebere Justice Mark, known as Justice Crack, to the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) after he was charged with false claims that Nigerian soldiers are poorly fed. The court denied bail, directing the defence to file a formal application, and set the trial for 25 May 2026.

In a separate filing, the DSS asked the same court to dismiss a no‑case submission filed by Omoyele Sowore, the publisher of Sahara Reporters, alleging that his case should not proceed. Both actions illustrate the agency’s pursuit of legal measures against media figures who criticize the military or government.
