Nigerian Education Loan Fund Begins June‑July Student Allowance Disbursement

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has started paying June and July upkeep allowances to student beneficiaries under the federal student loan programme. Payments are being released in batches nationwide, and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) says all outstanding backlogs will be cleared. NANS president Akinteye Babatunde assured students that no eligible recipient will be left out.

Lagos State lawmaker Gbolahan Yishawu highlighted that NELFUND has made university education more accessible in his Eti‑Osa constituency. He noted that the loan fund, combined with his free General Certificate Examination (GCE) form distribution, provides both academic qualification support and financial assistance through tuition loans and upkeep allowances, expanding higher‑education opportunities for thousands of young people.
