Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council rejects fake curriculum funding request

The Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) has publicly disowned a fraudulent document that solicited financial support for the production, printing and nationwide distribution of the Revised Basic Education Curriculum for the 2026/2027 academic session. Executive Secretary Professor Salisu Shehu issued a signed disclaimer in Abuja, describing the correspondence as fictitious, frivolous and unauthorised, and urged government agencies, schools, development partners and the public to disregard any such requests.

NERDC confirmed that the council has already made adequate arrangements for the curriculum’s production and distribution through the appropriate federal and state education authorities, and that all authentic information will be communicated only via its official channels.
