Nigerian Exchange Group begins N-Zero climate assessments
The Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group) has launched corporate baseline assessments as part of its N-Zero initiative. This phase aims to assist Nigerian businesses in improving climate readiness, establishing credible net-zero pathways, and accessing climate-aligned capital.
Developed in partnership with DEG Impulse gGmbH and Africa Foresight Group (AFG), the N-Zero program focuses on transitioning companies from climate ambition to practical action. The assessments will evaluate participating firms on several metrics, including emissions measurement and reporting, climate-risk management, target-setting, and transition planning.
To date, the initiative has engaged over 50 companies, with 17 formally onboarded as community members. Participating organizations include Access Holdings, Dangote Cement, United Bank for Africa, Stanbic IBTC Holdings, Zenith Bank, and Seplat Energy, among others.
