Nigerian Exchange Group Chairman Urges Capital Market-Insurance Collaboration

Dr Umaru Kwairanga, chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX), called for stronger collaboration between Nigeria’s capital market and its insurance industry. Speaking at the investiture of Mr Akinjide Orimolade as the 53rd President of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, Kwairanga said joint action is essential to mobilise long‑term capital, deepen financial inclusion and underpin sustainable economic development.

He urged stakeholders to build resilient institutions, promote innovation, embrace technology and develop products that meet evolving needs of individuals, businesses and investors. Kwairanga reaffirmed NGX’s commitment to deepen the market, improve access to finance and strengthen investor confidence, while lauding CIIN’s role in professionalising the insurance sector.
