Nigerian Export Promotion Council Denies Strike Rumors, Affirms Harmony

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) and the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) jointly dismissed online reports that NEPC staff were planning a strike. In a statement released in Abuja, Head of Corporate Communications Aliu Sadiq said the alleged strike was "false, baseless and should be disregarded," and ASCSN chairman Moruf Ogunlana reaffirmed that the council continues to enjoy industrial harmony.

The council also rejected claims of recent director appointments and accusations of favouritism or nepotism, describing them as unfounded. It highlighted recent achievements, including a non‑oil export value of $6.1 billion in 2025—the highest since its inception—and training programmes that have upskilled more than 75 % of its staff since 2023, under the leadership of CEO Nonye Ayeni.
