MTN Nigeria H1 2026 profit jumps 71% as data revenue surges
MTN Nigeria Plc reported a profit after tax of ₦707.5 billion for the first half of 2026, a 70.6 % year‑on‑year increase, and revenue of ₦2.99 trillion, up 25.9 % YoY. Data services drove much of the growth, generating about ₦1.699 trillion, a 38.3 % rise, while the company added 4.9 million new subscribers, bringing its total to 92.2 million and active data users to 55.7 million. The board approved an interim dividend of ₦26 per share payable on 7 September 2026.
BUA Foods Plc posted a profit after tax of ₦292.27 billion for the same period, a 12 % increase from the previous year, despite a 16 % decline in revenue to ₦765.12 billion. The firm improved its operating profit margin to 42 % and highlighted expansion programmes in wheat milling, edible oils and noodles to strengthen food production and security in Nigeria.
