Nigerian High Court Suspends Activities at Onne Port’s Berth 12

On 17 July 2026 the Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt issued an injunction that halts all operations at Berth 12 of the Federal Ocean Terminal in the Onne Port Complex. The order applies to the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and International Container Terminal Services Nigeria Limited (ICTSI Nigeria Ltd), who are barred from executing lease agreements, granting rights, undertaking construction, taking possession, or any other activity that could change the status‑quo at the berth.

The injunction was granted in Suit No. NHC/1/CS/2025 filed by Deep Offshore Services Nigeria Limited. Counsel Ama Etuwewe, SAN, warned investors, lenders, contractors and other stakeholders that any transaction violating the order could be declared null and void and may expose the parties to contempt proceedings. The court adjourned the pending applications to 23 September 2026, directing all parties to preserve the current state of affairs until a final ruling.
