Nigerian influencer Geh Geh advises men against financing girlfriends

Nigerian content creator and self‑described relationship coach Geh Geh has warned men not to make major financial investments in women they are dating. In a circulated video and during an interview on the BTC Podcast, he said men should avoid paying school fees for women, opening businesses for them, or otherwise spending heavily on partners, arguing many relationships are driven by women’s financial dependence.

Geh Geh emphasized he is not opposed to relationships themselves, stating, “I’m not really against relationships, I dey against women wey wan use relationship escape poverty.” He claimed that after marriage a woman will stop paying rent and that men should protect their own finances rather than “put all your eggs in one basket.” The comments have sparked discussion online about gender roles and financial responsibilities in Nigerian dating culture.
