Nigeria House Committee declares PFIPC appointment letter forged
The House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the disputed Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) announced that the appointment letter and enabling act presented by self‑styled Director‑General Adeniyi Adeyemi are forged. Committee chairman Yusuf Gagdi cited confirmation from Head of the Civil Service Didi Esther Walson‑Jack that the documents are not authentic. The panel, which earlier described the council’s establishment as a serious breach of due process, ordered the Inspector‑General of Police to produce Adeyemi within 48 hours. The police said Adeyemi is under a valid court remand order and cannot be released without a court‑issued warrant. The council was allocated roughly ₦1.3 billion in the 2026 Appropriation Act. The committee resumed its probe on 29 July 2026 and continues to request information from security and anti‑corruption agencies while the investigation proceeds.
