Nigerian Meteorological Agency issues three‑day weather outlook for the country
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) released a weather outlook for Saturday through Monday, predicting sunshine and cloudiness in northern areas on Saturday, followed by thunderstorms with moderate rain across many states. The forecast lists specific regions—including Taraba, Adamawa, Kaduna, Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Jigawa, Katsina, Kano, and the Federal Capital Territory—where rain is expected in the morning and again in the afternoon or evening. Southern states such as Ondo, Ogun, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Lagos, and Bayelsa are also slated for moderate rains, with later-day thunderstorms throughout the region.
NiMet cautioned the public to secure loose objects, avoid driving through flood‑affected waters, disconnect electrical appliances, and stay clear of tall trees during the expected strong winds. Airline operators were advised to obtain airport‑specific weather reports for safe flight planning.
