Nigerian military conducts officer training and leadership graduations
The Nigerian military has conducted two significant training ceremonies aimed at enhancing professional standards and leadership capabilities.
At the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna, Rear Adm. Abdulrasheed Haruna, the Navy Chief of Training, addressed passing-out cadets during the Beating of the Retreat and Prize-Giving Ceremony. Haruna urged the cadets to uphold democratic values, remain disciplined, and safeguard Nigeria’s national interests as they prepare for commissioning. He emphasized the importance of vigilance and commitment to duty in addressing evolving security challenges.
In Abuja, the Nigerian Army graduated 59 officers from the Leadership Skills Development Course 16/26. Major General Valentine Okoro, the Chief of Training Army, noted that the program was designed to strengthen tactical-level leadership, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence. The initiative aims to transform the Army into a more professional and resilient force capable of navigating complex contemporary security environments through adaptive leadership and decisive action.
