Nigerian Navy launches water, school and lighting projects in Katsina

The Nigerian Navy inaugurated a set of community development projects in Kerau Quarters, Katsina State, under the Chief of Naval Staff’s Special Intervention Quick Impact Project Scheme. The works include an 80,000‑litre solar‑powered industrial borehole with an overhead tank, solar‑powered streetlights and the renovation of a community school.

Governor Dikko Radda attended the commissioning and praised the initiatives for improving access to clean water, enhancing security and providing a better learning environment. Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, Chief of Naval Staff, said the scheme supports the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthens civil‑military cooperation. Rear Admiral Aminu Abdullahi represented the CNS, while Rear Admiral Muhammad Yakubu Dahiru, the project coordinator, described the works as a lasting investment for the people of Kerau. A simultaneous medical outreach by Navy, Army and Air Force personnel offered free consultations and treatment to residents.
