Nigerian polytechnics receive approval for Artificial Intelligence programmes

Several Nigerian polytechnics have received approval to launch National Diploma (ND) programmes in Artificial Intelligence.

Federal Polytechnic, Ugep in Cross River State has secured official authorization to begin the programme, which will cover machine learning, data analysis, and automation. The institution aims to equip students with digital skills necessary for the global workforce. Prospective candidates are required to have a minimum UTME score of 100.

Similarly, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has granted approval to Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, to commence its AI programme starting next academic session. The announcement was made by Rector Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed during a conference focused on harnessing artificial intelligence for sustainable development.
