Nigerian Ports Authority Announces 38 Vessel Arrivals and Boosts Port Security

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) reported that 38 vessels carrying petroleum products, foodstuffs and other cargoes are scheduled to berth at Lagos’s Apapa, Lekki Deep Sea and Tin Can Island ports between July 29 and August 7. Of these, 14 vessels will bring containerised cargo while the remaining ships will discharge premium motor spirit, crude oil, diesel, bulk urea, wheat, gypsum, sugar and other goods. Thirteen vessels have already reached the ports and 25 are currently unloading.

In a separate initiative, the NPA donated bullet‑proof vests, tactical helmets, raincoats, torches, handcuffs, boots, batons and related equipment to the Ports Authority Police (Western) Command. The donation, made by Managing Director Dr Abubakar Dantsoho and Lagos Port Complex Manager Adebowale Lawal, aims to strengthen security across Nigeria’s seaports and waterfronts.
