Nigerian Ports Authority facilitates release of NDPHC power equipment

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has facilitated the recovery and clearance of critical power equipment belonging to the Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited (NDPHC). The equipment had been abandoned and left idle at various Nigerian seaports.

NDPHC Managing Director Engr. Jennifer Adighije stated that the intervention is expected to accelerate the implementation of vital power projects across the country and prevent potential losses amounting to billions of naira. She noted that prolonged delays in clearing the consignments could have increased costs and negatively impacted project timelines and electricity supply efforts.

NPA Managing Director Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to supporting national development initiatives. The NDPHC has called for stronger collaboration between energy and maritime agencies to prevent bureaucratic bottlenecks that hinder critical infrastructure projects.
