Nigerian singer Flavour recalls being forced off stage for P‑Square

Nigerian highlife artist Chinedu Okoli, known as Flavour, told a podcast that early in his career he was performing at a nightclub when the venue manager abruptly asked him to stop so the then‑popular duo P‑Square could take the stage. He switched off his microphone, sat down, and watched as the crowd erupted for Paul P‑Square’s performance of “Temptation”.

Flavour said the humiliation spurred him to work harder, using the incident as motivation that eventually helped him achieve success in the Nigerian music scene.
