Kano Governor Yusuf praises NELFUND for expanding student access to higher education

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has praised the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as a vital intervention for expanding access to higher education. Speaking at the combined convocation ceremony of Al-Istiqama University in Sumaila, Yusuf noted that the scheme helps reduce financial barriers for qualified students and their families.

The Governor expressed appreciation to the Federal Government, led by President Bola Tinubu, for supporting the education sector through this initiative. He emphasized that NELFUND provides more options for financing tertiary education across Nigerian institutions, ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent students from pursuing academic goals.

During the ceremony, which saw 1,101 students graduate, Yusuf also highlighted the importance of education in human capital development and urged graduates to apply their skills toward innovation, entrepreneurship, and community development.
