Nigerian states seek hospitality partnerships to boost tourism
State governments in Nigeria are actively seeking partnerships with private-sector hospitality operators to bolster regional tourism.
In Lagos, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture met with representatives from The Festival Hotel, Conference Centre & Spa to discuss collaboration. Permanent Secretary Bopo Oyekan-Ismaila emphasized the importance of service standards, digitization, and innovation to position Lagos as a leading African tourism destination. The Ministry expressed readiness to support initiatives that enhance the tourism ecosystem.
Similarly, the Oyo State Government has pledged continued support for hospitality investors to create a conducive environment for sector growth. During a visit from the management of Metro Tulip Apartment Hotel & Suites, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Wasiu Olatubosun noted that increasing investor interest reflects the success of current administration policies. The state aims to support businesses through improved infrastructure and security, while encouraging partnerships during major cultural events such as the World Egungun Festival and Sango Festival.
