Nigerian troops combat ISWAP in Borno and Yobe states
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have conducted a series of operations against Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Borno and Yobe states, resulting in numerous arrests and fatalities.
In Borno, military forces arrested 15 suspected terrorists and collaborators within a 24-hour period. This included 11 suspects in the Monguno Local Government Area and the surrender of a suspected female terrorist and her two children in Mafa. Additionally, troops successfully repelled an attack on Kukawa town, where coordinated ground and air responses neutralized several fighters and destroyed multiple motorcycles.
In Yobe, troops arrested three suspected ISWAP logistics suppliers in Geidam during a curfew operation. These individuals allegedly provided petroleum products and other materials to terrorists. Precision air strikes in the Sambisa axis and near the Cross Kauwa axis also reportedly killed dozens of terrorists and destroyed their mobility assets, including motorcycles.
