Nigerian universities begin 2026/2027 academic session admissions

Several Nigerian universities have commenced admission processes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

Sokoto State University (SSU) has released its first batch admission list. Candidates are advised to verify their status through the university's admission notice and are instructed to accept offers via the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS). The university also emphasized that candidates must upload their SSCE/O’Level results to the JAMB portal to be eligible for processing.

Similarly, the State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS) has begun uploading admission offers to the JAMB CAPS portal. Applicants are encouraged to monitor their JAMB CAPS status regularly. A status indicating “You have been proposed for admission” suggests a recommendation from the institution, though final admission remains subject to JAMB approval.
