Nigerian woman leaves church after pastor's comments on tithes

A Nigerian woman has gained social media attention after sharing her decision to stop attending her church in Uyo. The woman, identified as @maxnonso on X, explained that she had been consistently paying tithes for seven months until a delay in her monthly salary prevented her from making payments for two months.

Her decision to leave the congregation followed a comment from her pastor, who reportedly told her, “You’re eating God’s money. If you continue like this, you’ll never move forward.” In response to the encounter, she stated that she has redirected the money intended for tithes to an orphanage instead of returning to the church.
