Hope Uzodimma leads APC's 276‑member campaign council for Osun 2026 governorship race
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled a 276‑member National Campaign Council to steer its campaign for the Osun State governorship election scheduled for 15 August 2026. The council is chaired by Imo State Governor and Progressive Governors’ Forum chairman Senator Hope Uzodimma, with Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas serving as co‑chairmen. Senior Special Assistant to the President Ibrahim Masari was named deputy chairman and Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin acts as secretary.
The council includes governors, members of the National Working Committee, principal officers of the National Assembly, ministers, federal and state legislators, and other party stakeholders drawn from across the country. To coordinate the campaign, the APC created specialised sub‑committees covering election planning, finance, grassroots mobilisation, logistics, monitoring, protocol, media, security, youth, persons with disabilities, women’s mobilisation, and secretariat functions. The inauguration of the council and its sub‑committees is set for 28 July 2026 at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre in Abuja.
