Nigeria's APC Rejects Unofficial Primary Candidate List Amid Petition Review

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nigeria announced that no official list of candidates emerging from its recently held party primaries has been released. In a statement, National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka urged members and the public to disregard any unauthorized reports claiming to disclose the outcome.

The party later disclosed that it had received and vetted over 700 petitions challenging primary results. After review by the National Working Committee, some initial winners were altered, while others were confirmed. The APC declared the current candidate lineup as final and is now focused on ensuring candidates submit their nomination forms to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Governors from the Progressive Governors’ Forum have met with party chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda to address intraparty issues ahead of the 2027 general elections.
