Nigeria's Arewa Professional Forum urges full digital adoption in government

The Arewa Professional Forum (APF) has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to accelerate the adoption of digital governance and paper‑less administration across all ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs). In a statement signed by its National President, Comrade Auwal Muhammed, the forum said recent developments surrounding the fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) should serve as a wake‑up call to strengthen institutional systems through technology rather than assigning blame.

The APF praised the Head of the Civil Service, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson‑Jack, for leading a major public‑sector digital transformation that includes the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system, GovMail and the 1‑GOV Cloud Platform. The forum argued that expanding these digital reforms would improve transparency, accountability, record‑keeping, decision‑making speed and create verifiable audit trails, thereby reducing administrative lapses and boosting public confidence in government institutions.
