Nigeria's Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila cleared in PFIPC scandal

A detailed State House clarification exonerated Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, from allegations made by Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew about a fabricated Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). The statement said Matthew forged documents, created a non‑existent agency and secured unauthorized office space, while Gbajabiamila reported the scheme to the Department of State Services and police in October 2025.

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum welcomed the clarification, praising Gbajabiamila as a whistle‑blower who protected the Presidency’s reputation. A coalition of more than 350 civil‑society organisations also issued a statement calling the allegations baseless, highlighting Gbajabiamila’s legislative record and public‑service achievements. Both groups affirmed their support for the Chief of Staff following the State House’s findings.
