Konga and Zinox launch discount scheme for Nigerian military
The Nigerian government and Zinox Group have launched the Defence Discount Scheme (DDS), a welfare initiative designed to provide serving and retired members of the Nigerian Armed Forces and their families with access to discounted goods. The scheme will be hosted on the Konga e-commerce platform and is scheduled to go live on October 1, 2026.
To ensure the program reaches only eligible beneficiaries, the Konga platform has been integrated with the Defence Headquarters’ authentication system. This digital verification process allows the system to confirm the status of users before granting access to lower prices on a variety of items, including food, household goods, electronics, vehicles, and renewable energy products.
The partnership was unveiled in Abuja in the presence of senior military leaders, including Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede, and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume. Officials described the initiative as a strategic use of private-sector technology to support military welfare and ease the financial pressures caused by rising household costs.
