Nigeria's DTN@100 Heroes Awards Honor Jim Ovia, Folorunsho Alakija and Others

The Daily Times Nigeria centenary (DTN@100) Heroes Awards announced winners in 29 categories after a nationwide public voting process that attracted thousands of verified votes from Nigerians at home and in the diaspora. Chairman Bolaji Okusaga said the participation reflected a strong desire to celebrate excellence, integrity and transformational leadership, and highlighted the awards as a legacy of the newspaper's 100‑year history.

Among the headline honourees, Jim Ovia, CON, Founder and Chairman of Zenith Bank Plc, received the Change Maker of the Century Award for his contributions to the financial sector and national development. Folorunsho Alakija was presented with the Life and Legacy Award for her impact on entrepreneurship, philanthropy and nation‑building. Senator George Akume, CON, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, was named Public Impact Person of the Decade for his record of public service.
