The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) announced that N2.257 trillion of April 2026 federation revenue was distributed among the three tiers of government. The Federal Government received about N787 billion, state governments N772 billion and local government councils N540 billion, with oil‑producing states receiving a 13 % derivation of N157 billion.
Total gross revenue for the month stood at N3.184 trillion, after deducting N113.756 billion for collection costs and N813.839 billion for transfers, refunds and savings. The allocation comprised N1.260 trillion statutory revenue, N747.088 billion VAT revenue and a N250 billion augmentation. Statutory revenue rose by N678 billion and VAT by N142 billion compared with the previous month, driven by higher collections from Companies Income Tax, capital gains tax, import duties and oil‑and‑gas royalties, while Petroleum Profit Tax and Hydrocarbon Tax fell.
