Nigeria's Federal Road Safety Corps Emphasizes Highway Enforcement and Child Seat‑belt Safety
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) reaffirmed its commitment to safer highways, stronger enforcement and ongoing public enlightenment at the 10th anniversary lecture of City Business News in Lagos. Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, represented by Assistant Corps Marshal Mathew Olonisaye, stressed that “the joy of FRSC is when we do not record loss of lives on our highways” and called for partnership among agencies, operators and road users.
In Anambra State, FRSC Sector Commander Mrs Bridget Asekhauno urged parents to secure babies with a back‑seat belt during a road‑safety outreach at Jesus is Alive Church in Eziowelle. She warned that “parents should always secure their babies in the back seat while driving” and cautioned against mobile‑phone use and overloading, emphasizing that human actions cause most crashes. Both events highlight FRSC’s focus on reducing traffic injuries and supporting safe transport across Nigeria.
