Nigeria's First Lady Oluremi Tinubu launches kidney clinic and health‑tech academy in Jigawa

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu urged Nigerian women to start small trades such as akara, kulikuli and corn roasting, citing examples of market stalls that grew into large food businesses. She framed entrepreneurship as a pathway to economic empowerment and national development.

During a visit to Hadejia in Jigawa State, Tinubu inaugurated the Oluremi Tinubu Clinic for early detection and prevention of chronic kidney disease and the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Academy, a health‑tech training centre created by the Federal Government and NITDA. Built and equipped by FutureMap Foundation and eHealth Africa, the facilities aim to improve health outcomes and develop digital tools for kidney disease monitoring.
