Nigeria's FRSC and NITT Sign MoU to Boost Transport Training and Road Safety

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT) signed a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding in Abuja. The agreement, signed by Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed and NITT Director General Dr. Bayero Farah, aims to deepen collaboration on advanced training, capacity development, research and innovation for Nigeria’s transport sector.

Key objectives include modernising driver‑training centres, enhancing ICT‑driven learning, strengthening research capabilities and producing globally competitive transport professionals. The MoU seeks to align transport education and professional standards with global best practices, thereby improving road safety and supporting sustainable national development. Stakeholders such as AAI CEO Ahmed Abdelhafaz and Chairman Ejike Njeze attended the ceremony, underscoring the strategic importance of the partnership.

The partnership is presented as an actionable framework for immediate implementation, intended to accelerate reforms across Nigeria’s transport ecosystem.
