The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has launched preparations for the 1448 H/2027 Hajj season, directing state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards and licensed tour operators to collect an initial deposit of ₦4 million from pilgrims. A circular dated 15 June 2026 sets 26 September 2026 as the deadline for these deposits, with payments to be made only through official channels.

In parallel, the Society of National Services and Residences in Tunisia announced an open call for volunteers to escort pilgrims. Applications are accepted from 20 July to 28 July 2026, with age limits of 35‑55 for men and 45‑55 for women (up to 65 and 60 for experienced candidates). Selected candidates will undergo written tests and oral interviews.

Additionally, people on waiting lists for the Hajj have been instructed to pay required fees between 3 and 11 August, underscoring the coordinated effort across multiple countries to ensure a smooth pilgrimage.
